Research Areas & Interests
Islamic Family Law, particularly in matters of marriage, divorce, khul‘ (mutual separation), child custody, and financial support for spouses and children, Children’s Rights in Islam, examined from both legal and ethical perspectives., Islamic Criminal Law, with a focus on the foundations and objectives of Islamic penal legislation., Qur’anic Rhetoric, analyzing rhetorical styles in the Qur’an and their role in conveying meaning and promoting ethical values.

Dr. Hala Ibrahim Mahmoud Rizq
Assistant Professor
Dr. Hala is a university faculty member specializing in Islamic Studies and the Arabic Language, with over ten years of academic and administrative experience at leading universities in the UAE, including the University of Fujairah, Al Ghurair University, and Al Qasimia University. She has held key leadership roles such as Head of the General Education Department, Head of the Family Sciences Department, and Chair of central committees including the Central Examination Committee, the Academic Integrity Committee, and the Course Files Evaluation Committee.
She has played a vital role in developing strategic and operational plans, curriculum design, quality assurance, and performance reporting to support institutional excellence.
Dr. Hala has taught a wide range of university courses in both Islamic and Arabic disciplines, including Islamic Creed, Jurisprudence (Worship, Transactions, Marriage and Divorce, Criminal Law), Quranic Sciences, Tafsir, Hadith, Prophetic Biography (Seerah), and Islam and Contemporary Issues. Her Arabic language instruction includes Grammar and Morphology, Writing and Expression Skills, Rhetoric, Arabic Library, and Arabic Communication Skills.
She is distinguished for combining academic expertise with effective leadership, upholding the highest standards of quality in higher education
