A Symposium on - Inclusive Education and Comprehensive Quality

As part of national efforts to promote inclusive education and ensure the quality of the educational process for People of Determination, faculty members and students from the Department of Sociology and Social Work at Fujairah University participated in a symposium titled "Inclusive Education and Comprehensive Quality." The event was organized by the Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services – Khorfakkan Branch, on Thursday, February 27, 2025, with the presence of distinguished academics, specialists in the field, and several families of People of Determination.

The symposium was moderated by Dr. Faisal Al-Mutalqah, Dean of the College of Humanities and Sciences at Fujairah University, who opened the discussion by emphasizing that comprehensive empowerment is a shared responsibility. He stressed the importance of collaboration between educational institutions, families, and society to ensure the success of inclusion policies.

The speakers addressed several key topics, including:
Preparing the educational environment to ensure the quality of inclusive education.
Training educators to meet the needs of People of Determination.
Empowering families to support their children and enhance their role in the educational process.
Addressing the challenges of inclusive education and proposing appropriate solutions.
Developing national policies to protect the educational rights of People of Determination in higher education.
The importance of early detection and intervention to ensure the success of inclusion.

The symposium witnessed active participation from Fujairah University faculty members, including Dr. Rami Al-Jabour, Dr. Asmaa Ahmed, and Prof. Dr. Sayed Al-Wakeel, along with students from the Special Needs Care course under the supervision of Dr. Ramadan Ismail.

Additionally, several parents participated, sharing their personal experiences and the challenges their children face in educational institutions. Their contributions added a practical and field-based dimension to the discussion.

The symposium reinforced the role of Fujairah University and its students in engaging with specialized institutions, reflecting the effective collaboration between academia and the community in supporting inclusive education.

Several important recommendations were made to improve the educational environment for People of Determination, including teacher training, family support, and the introduction of effective solutions to challenges in inclusive education.

In conclusion, the symposium emphasized the need for developing comprehensive national strategies to support inclusive education and enhance the role of academic institutions in implementing best global practices to ensure high-quality education for People of Determination
