UOF Enhances Public Safety Awareness Through Collaboration with Civil Defense

In line with its commitment to ensuring the highest safety standards for its employees, properties, and facilities, the University of Fujairah (UOF) organized an awareness lecture on Friday, February 7, 2025, in collaboration with Civil Defense. The initiative aimed to equip university personnel with the knowledge and skills to respond swiftly and effectively in emergencies, ensuring a seamless transition from normal operations to crisis management.
The session provided a comprehensive overview of fire safety protocols, including a detailed demonstration of the proper use of fire extinguishers, their various types, and the most effective locations for their placement. Experts from the Civil Defense emphasized the importance of quick decision-making in fire-related emergencies and how to assess fire hazards within an educational environment.
Furthermore, the lecture outlined the essential evacuation procedures to follow in an emergency. This included task delegation among security and safety teams to facilitate a well-coordinated and orderly evacuation process. Participants were trained to identify emergency exits, assist individuals with special needs, and ensure clear communication throughout an evacuation.
