The University of Fujairah Achieves First Place in the Fifth International Media Forum of Al-Qasimi University

The College of Communication at UOF has achieved first place internationally in the scientific research competition at the Fifth International Media Forum organized by Al-Qasimi University. The event took place within the framework of the Innovation Month under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Sultan Al Qasimi, a member of the Supreme Council of the Union and the Ruler of Sharjah. The university hosted the fifth student forum under the title “Media for Sustainability: Our Environment, Our Responsibility” on February 14, 2024.

The University of Fujairah competed and reached the finals with two important research projects in the field of environmental media. One research, titled “The Role of Digital Media in Promoting Environmental Awareness in the UAE – An Analytical Study,” was prepared by students Raqiya Al Yemahi and Saif Al Naqbi. The other research focused on “The Role of Public Relations in Increasing Environmental Awareness,” prepared by students Hanaa Al Asam and Ahmed Al Naqbi. The research projects were supervised by Dr. Abdu Dawood and Dr. Ahmed Mustafa, who were honored at the ceremony closure.

Prof. Ghassan Al Qaimari, the University Chancellor, praised the outstanding achievement of the students, emphasizing the importance of encouraging and supporting a culture of creativity and innovation among university students, highlighting their skills and capabilities. He also commended the efforts of the College of Communication and its Faculty Staff in motivating students and guiding them towards excellence in the field of communication and media.

Similarly, Prof. Mohamed Fyadh, Dean of the College of Communication, praised this achievement, stating, “This honor is a badge of honor for all of us and will serve as a gateway and incentive for all college students to present the best pioneering scientific projects in the fields of communication and media.”

It is worth mentioning that the forum witnessed wide participation, with 421 students from 26 universities representing 18 different countries, including local and international universities such as Lyon University in France, Cairo University, Al-Azhar University, and Menoufia University in Egypt, King Faisal University and Taibah University in Saudi Arabia, Baghdad University in Iraq, Bahrain University, and Yarmouk University in Jordan. This underscores the significant importance of this event in promoting innovation and scientific exchange among students at both the local and international levels.
