A delegation from the University of Fujairah visits the largest university in Europe to discuss ways of cooperation.

A delegation from the College of Communication at the University of Fujairah conducted a scientific visit to the University of Cologne in the Federal Republic of Germany, as part of their mutual cooperation and exchange of expertise with prestigious academic institutions worldwide. This was coordinated with the Goethe Institute in Germany and His Excellency “Alexander Schonfelder”, the German Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates.

The delegation was introduced to the history of the University of Cologne, which is one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in Europe, founded in 1388. It has now become the largest university in Europe in terms of the number of students, which has exceeded 50,000. It has dozens of diverse scientific programs, including mass communication and medical sciences.

The delegation listened to scientific lectures on the academic programs and research projects adopted by the university, which have previously produced 3 Nobel laureates in various scientific fields. The delegation also discussed how University of Fujairah students can benefit from the scholarships offered by the University of Cologne to international students, as well as discussing plans for joint cooperation in implementing student exchange programs and joint summer camps.

Prof. Sameh Ghwanmeh, the university director, affirmed that this visit comes as part of the university’s interaction with international academic institutions to exchange expertise and enable students to learn about different experiences and cultures. This visit is part of a scientific program for three European countries that includes visits to a number of universities and academic and cultural institutions.

The delegation included Dr. Mohammed Malik, Dean of the College of Communication, Dr. Abdu Dawood, Dr. Ahmed Mustafa, in addition to the participation of 11 male and female students from the university.
