Prof. Sameh Ghwanmeh, the director of the University of Fujairah, and Dr. Ghassan Al-Qaimari, the deputy director of the university, received on Thursday, March 9th, at the Digital Fujairah Library, His Excellency the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany, Alexander Schonfelder, and His Excellency the Consul General in Dubai, Seebel Bfaff.

The visit aimed to get a closer look at the University of Fujairah, which has arranged a scientific trip to Germany during this March, in which a number of professors and students from the College of Communication will participate, to enhance the exchange of experiences through direct communication and interaction with academic and professional institutions in Germany.

The visit program began with a meeting with the university’s administration, during which the guests were introduced to the University of Fujairah’s development and future strategy, and many ideas were discussed that contribute to strengthening and activating the mechanisms of strategic partnership between German institutions and the University of Fujairah. This was followed by an open meeting for the German Ambassador and the Consul General with a group of students from various colleges, where one of the students delivered a welcoming speech in German. The Ambassador and the Consul General listened with great interest and interaction to the students’ interests and future aspirations, expressing their keenness to encourage joint cooperation with German institutions in scientific fields, through cultural exchange and activating student visits between the two countries.

The meeting owner then toured the Digital Fujairah Library, where the guests were given a detailed explanation about the library and the services it provides to university students, faculty members, and various segments of society. The guests expressed their admiration for the modern library’s equipment and advanced technologies used to support scientific research, innovation, continuous education programs, and self-development, and they pointed out that it is a pioneering example of digital libraries.

For his part, the university director expressed the importance of the German Ambassador and Consul General’s visit to the University of Fujairah, affirming the university’s keenness to increase opportunities for cooperation with German institutions and seek to establish strategic partnerships in scientific research, exchange of experiences, and visits.

The university’s students and faculty members praised the importance of such visits in opening new horizons for communication and cooperation between universities and institutions in different countries.
